HAIR SERVICES

BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT
  • With the proper maintenance your Brazilian Blowout should last for 10-12 weeks if the Brazilian Açai After-Care Maintenance product line is used. We highly recommend using the Brazilian Blowout retail line to ensure that your results will last the entire lifetime of the treatment. These products contain ingredients from the treatment that keep reinforcing the Brazilian Blowout into your hair strands to prolong the service. The Ionic Bond Spray and Deep Conditioning Masque are fan favorites!
  • Avoid using any non-Brazilian Blowout Shampoo, Conditioner or Styling Products that contain sulfates.
  • After your treatment you can immediately resume regular activities such as exercising, showering, and using hair ties, ponytails and hot tools.
  • Avoid Chlorine and/or Salt Water. If you are unable to avoid these environments, we highly recommend coating your hair with a leave in conditioner or with the Brazilian Blowout Serum prior to getting your hair wet in the pool or ocean. This creates a barrier to protect your treatment.
  • All color services should be completed BEFORE your Brazilian Service (Color can be applied the same day). If you get a Brazilian Blowout and wish to get a color service at a later date, you will need to wait 2 weeks. Keep in mind that lightening services will strip out your treatment in places where lightener is applied. We recommend getting all lightening services in advance.
  • Maintenance: We recommend that you schedule your next treatment 10-12 weeks after your original visit to keep your hair frizz free!

PERMANENT WAVES
  • Wait 48-72 hours before shampooing your hair. You may wet your hair with a spray bottle, or scrunch with water. After the waiting times are up you may shampoo regularly for your hair type (remember to think of your hair as curly and chemically treated).
  • Do not stand under a shower head for 48 hours. This will weigh down the crown area of your hair and pull the curl out or relax the curl.
  • Avoid getting into a swimming pool or hot tub for 7 days. Chemicals in pools, hot tubs will change the chemical structure in your hair, even if you do not plan on getting your hair wet the heated water evaporates and the condensation contains chemicals that will go absorb into your hair shaft.
  • After leaving the salon, do not use a flat iron, curling iron or blow dryer for 48 hours. The heat will open up the cuticle and relax your curl. Use a towel scrunching method to dry your locks.
  • Do not brush or pull hair for 24-48 hours. Always use a pick or wide tooth comb when hair is wet to untangle hair.
  • The more you brush or run your fingers through your hair the bigger your hair will become. When you brush or run your finger through your hair you separate the curl and will create big, fluffy hair.
  • When you wake up, you may need to reactivate your curls from lying down all night. To do so, wet your hair, apply the recommended products, and scrunch with your hands from the ends upward.
  • Use a texture spray or curl fixative to keep curl tight and defined. Ask your stylist for recommendations!
  • Always Condition your hair. Curly hair tends to be more dry because the serum does not flow down the hair shaft as quickly and chemically treated hair tends to become dry, using a professional conditioner is very important. To keep your curls from becoming dry and frizzy we recommend a leave in conditioner, too.
  • Maintenance: We recommend coming in every 4-6 weeks for a refresh on your perm! Shorter hair lengths may need a refresh sooner.

HAIR EXTENSIONS
  • Before any physical activity (pool, beach, gym, biking, etc.), secure hair well in a braid or under a cap. Make sure to thoroughly wash your hair quickly after to remove any chemicals, sweat or residue. DO NOT leave your hair wet after a workout for any long lengths of time. Moisture left in the hair over time will cause slippage to the extensions.
  • Brush your hair extensions from the bottom to mid-shaft and untangled at least twice a day with a Boar Bristle or Loop Brush. This will guarantee the longevity of the hair and prevent tangles and knotting. When brushing, secure your hair with the other hand to prevent tension on the roots. Make sure you brush out any tangles or knots before wetting your hair (always starting with your ends).
  • We use 100% Remy Human Hair, so you can continue to use your heat styling tools. However, just like natural hair, the extensions can be damaged. Make sure to protect the hair with a heat protectant! Avoid applying heat directly to the adhesive or bonds.
  • Use Sulfate, Sodium, & Alcohol Free Shampoos, Conditioners and Styling Products. Ask your stylist what products they recommend for your hair! Be careful not to put the product directly on the application area (especially hairspray).
  • DO NOT wash your hair more than 3 times a week.
  • Avoid washing your hair for up to 48-hours after your extension installation. When washing: Wet the hair thoroughly. Then gently apply the shampoo to the root area. Using your fingers, lightly massage between the tape/bonds, separating them well to remove any residue and oils. Rinse out completely. Do not vigorously scrub your hair as tangling may occur. Apply conditioner from mid-length to the ends. Never condition at the root area. For deeper conditioning, leave the conditioner on for a few extra minutes or use a hydrating treatment, like our KEVIN.MURPHY Young.Again.Masque or Hydrate.Me.Masque once a week.
  • After getting out of the shower, let your hair air-dry for about 10 minutes, and apply a heat protecting spray before blow-drying. For smoother results, run some serum throughout your hair avoiding the bonds.
  • DO NOT go to sleep with wet hair, as this will cause tangling, knotting and slippage. Loosely braid your hair before you go to sleep to avoid tangles and matting.
  • Maintenance: Come in every 8-16 weeks for a maintenance appointment.

COLOR
  • We recommend that you wait 48-72 hours after your color appointment before washing your hair.
  • Use Sulfate-free Shampoo, Conditioner & Styling products. All of our products meet this requirement. However, our KEVIN.MURPHY Everlasting.Colour line is fabulous for keeping your hair radiant and color locked in.
  • Avoid extremely hot temperatures when showering. Though hot showers feel amazing to some, it isn’t so great for your hair color. When washing hair with hot water, your hair’s cuticle is opened. Try shampooing with slightly warm water and then rinse with cold water after conditioning. The warm water will allow the shampoo and conditioner to penetrate and cleanse, while the cold water will help seal in the moisture from your conditioner while preventing color from fading by sealing the hair’s cuticle.
  • Try not to overwash your hair. We recommend washing only 2-3 times a week. Overwashing your hair can cause your glaze/toner or color to fade quicker, especially vibrant fashion colors. Not only are you washing away the natural oils that moisturize and keep your hair color looking fresh, but you also wash away a little bit of your color (not highlights) every time you wash your hair. Try adding a dry shampoo to your weekly routine to avoid washing so often!
  • Use moisturizing products, treatments, and leave-in conditioners when possible! Please add a heat protectant to your routine as well!
  • For any clients with chemical, highlighting, or heat damage. We recommend using our K18 line, which reverses damage in 4-minutes. We carry the Shampoo and Leave-in Treatment Line.
  • Limit chlorine and salt water. Chlorine is a chemical bleaching agent that cleans pools and will definitely strip color from your hair when enjoying a sunny pool day. Blonde hair is susceptible to turning a greenish tint, while darker shades may become dull, dry out, and lose their shine. So, if you find yourself wanting to go to the pool, try a swimmer’s cap! If you are going to be swimming in the ocean, or in a pool, adding conditioner to your hair and putting it in a cap will save your color from being drawn out by salts and chlorine. This will create a barrier on the hair shaft so that the chlorine won’t penetrate.
  • Keep up with trims. Dead ends won’t hold color and will fade even faster, so make sure you are cutting off those dead ends every 4-8 weeks so your color looks fresh from root to tip.
  • Come in for a glaze/toner in-between color services if you feel that your hair has any unwanted tones in it or if you want a refreshed look.
  • Maintenance: Stick to our recommended maintenance schedule to avoid any unwanted banding and to allow your color to fully take.
    • Root Retouches: 4-6 weeks
    • Highlights: 6-9 weeks
    • Balayage: 8-16 weeks
    • Glaze/Toner: 4-6 weeks
  • For Fashion Colors: We recommend using one of our VIRAL Shampoos & Conditioners to continue depositing the vibrant color back into your hair.
  • For Blondes / Gray: We recommend getting a Purple Shampoo to cancel out any unwanted yellow or brassy tones. Try using it once a week depending on your needs, but follow it up with a moisturizing conditioner. DO NOT use until at least 1-week after your highlighting service. The KEVIN.MURPHY Blonde line has styling products designed for blondes!
  • For Brunettes with Caramel Tones: We recommend using a Blue Shampoo to cancel out any unwanted orange or red tones. DO NOT use until at least 1-week after your highlighting service. Try using it once a week depending on your needs, but follow it up with a moisturizing conditioner.
